Ramara Township

Ramara Township is the result of an amalgamation of the former Rama and Mara Townships so, like Oro-Medonte, is quite large and diversified. It includes waterfront properties along both Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe, rural farm properties and, of course, Casino Rama with many commercial opportunities still available.

The Rama portion of Ramara is the northern half, stretching from Lake Couchiching eastward to Sebright. Besides the waterfront properties on Lake Couchiching there are some smaller lakes and rivers including Lake St. John and Lake Dalrymple (there's actually two Lake Dalrymples, the northern one is just outside Ramara's eastern boundary).

The southern portion of Ramara (formerly Mara) includes Lagoon City which has man-made canals to give people more access to water at an affordable price and Bayshore Village, a modern development, popular with retirees, that has shared waterfront facilities.

Other communities in Ramara include Brechin, Atherley, Mnjikining (or Rama) First Nation and parts of Washago.
